Specialty polyurethane casting resins that go beyond conventional casting applications. Don't see what you are looking for? Talk to us and we will do our best to find a plastic for your project.
Plasti-Paste™ Series
Designed for vertical surface application. Plasti‑Paste™ is fibre filled and can be used as a "mother mould" material to reinforce rubber moulds. This plastic is also a powerful adhesive and can be used as a repair material for a variety of industrial applications. Cured plastic can be sanded, machined and pigmented. Plasti‑Paste™ II can be painted with acrylic enamel paints.
Plasti-PasteTM II
Fibre resin designed for vertical surface application. Part A is a liquid and Part B is a paste. 1A:2B mix ratio by volume, 10 minute pot life 90 minute cure time.
Thixotropic plastic that self thickens when mixed and can be brushed onto a variety of surfaces or into rubber molds. Shell Shock™ is ideal for making fast, lightweight, rigid moulds for creating silicone appliances and effects (replace gypsum moulds). You can also brush a "gel coat" into a rubber mould and back it up with rigid foam, creating a highly detailed, lightweight casting.
Shell ShockTM SLOW
Thixotropic plastic that self thickens when mixed and can be brushed. 1A:4B mix ratio by volume, 8 minute pot life 5 hour cure time.
Smooth-On's versatile line of sprayable plastics are for large projects or for completing a number of smaller projects simultaneously. The EZ~Spray™ Jr. spray system is an inexpensive alternative to buying complicated spray equipment that can cost $25,000 and more. The EZ~Spray™ Jr. spray gun is portable, easy to use and can deliver all of Smooth-On's sprayable materials.
EZ~Spray™ Plastic
Spray plastic specifically formulated to be mixed and sprayed via Smooth-On’s EZ~Spray™ Jr. Spray System.
Simpact™ urethanes are low odour, fast-setting urethane elastomers which offer very high tear strength, impact resistance and wear resistance. Simpact™ urethanes are suitable for making impact resistant props, prototypes and display pieces. Simpact™ is a low odour, low shrink formulation that is phthalate free, mercury free and MOCA free.
SimpactTM 60A
Fast-setting shore A 60 hardness polyurethane elastomer, 1A:1B mix ratio by volume, 4 minute pot life and 2 hour handling time.
KX Flex™ elastomers are fast setting two-component polyurethanes that cure quickly to semi-rigid, highly impact resistant elastomers. KX Flex™ polyurethanes are off-white when cured, which makes this plastic very easy to colour using SO-Strong™, UVO™ or IGNITE™ colourants. Fully cured castings are tough and durable.
KX FlexTM 60
Fast-setting shore A 60 hardness polyurethane elastomer, 1A:1B mix ratio by volume, 2.5 minute pot life and 20 minute handling time.
Fast-setting shore A 90 hardness polyurethane elastomer, 100A:120B mix ratio by weight - scale required, 2.5 minute pot life and 20 minute handling time.
Feather Lite™ is a heavily filled low-density polyurethane casting resin. So lightweight (it floats in water!) and has a much lower density than other casting resins. Feather Lite™ can be used for a variety of art or industrial design related applications including reproducing sculpture, making fishing lures, prototype model making, casting doll heads and figures, etc.
Feather LiteTM
Heavily filled low-density polyurethane casting resin. Cured plastic is lightweight (it floats in water!) and has a much lower density than other casting resins.
SMASH! Plastic™ is a liquid plastic designed to shatter/crumble on impact (“breakaway glass”). SMASH! Plastic™ is water clear and, once fully cured, shatters like glass. It can be cast solid in thin sections to make window panes or rotationally cast to form hollow bottles, jars or other glass-like objects to be used as breakable props for movie and stage productions.
SMASH! PlasticTM
Polyurethane liquid plastic designed to shatter/crumble on impact ("breakaway glass"). water clear and, once fully cured, shatters like glass.
