How does it work?
Dragon Skin™ 20 is a Shore 20A translucent platinum silicone rubber that offers exceptional strength, elongation, and tear resistance. Mixed 1A:1B by weight or volume, it cures at room temperature with negligible shrinkage, making it ideal for special effects, prosthetic fabrication, and high-performance mould making. Pot life is 25 minutes with a 4-hour cure time at room temperature. Vacuum degassing is recommended to minimise air bubbles and achieve optimum results.
Skin Effects Silicone
Dragon Skin™ silicones are trusted by special effects artists worldwide for creating realistic skin, creature effects, masks, and prosthetics. The cured rubber is soft, durable, skin-safe, and certified by an independent laboratory. Create unlimited colour effects by adding Silc Pig™ silicone pigments or Cast Magic™ effect powders. Finished pieces can also be painted using the Psycho Paint™ system.
Mould Making Silicone
Dragon Skin™ 20 is ideal for producing exceptionally strong and tear-resistant moulds for casting wax, plaster, gypsum, resins, and other materials. Its superior flexibility allows moulds to withstand repeated casting cycles while maintaining excellent detail reproduction and dimensional stability.
Easy to Modify
For greater versatility, Dragon Skin™ 20 can be thickened with THI-VEX™ for brush-on applications or thinned using Silicone Thinner™ when a lower viscosity is required. The cured rubber remains highly flexible and durable across a wide service temperature range of -53°C to +232°C.
